Binh Phuoc: Bridge collapsed, broken in half due to overloaded cargo vehicles

15:9:35, 04/12/2020 When driver Le Minh Tuan drove the car near the middle of Suoi Mum bridge (Phu Binh village, Phu Rieng commune), suddenly the bridge showed signs of tilting to one side, then slowly broke in half and fell down into the stream.

On December 4, the police of Phu Rieng district, Binh Phuoc province coordinated with the authorities to conduct a scene examination and handle a bridge collapse that occurred in Phu Binh village, Phu Rieng commune, Phu Rieng district.

According to the initial information, at about 15:30 p.m. on December 3, the motorcycle loaded with rubber wood was driven by Le Minh Tuan (39 years old, living in Bu Nho commune, Phu Rieng district). in Phu Rieng commune road, from Phu Rieng district to Ho Chi Minh city.

When driver Tuan drove the car near the middle of Suoi Mum bridge (Phu Binh village, Phu Rieng commune), suddenly the bridge showed signs of tilting to one side, then slowly broke in two and fell into the stream.

The accident caused Suoi Mum bridge completely damaged; the plow motorcycle was stuck in the middle of the bridge, had a tire explosion and damaged ; Many rubber logs were droped out  into the stream.

Fortunately, the bridge collapsed slowly, driver Tuan sat firmly in the car so he was not injured. At the time the bridge collapsed, there were no people passing so there was no injured people

Suoi Mum Bridge is 3 meters wide and 20 meters long. This is an iron-based bridge built by the district government of Phu Rieng.

The bridge is very  importance, serving not only the people of Phu Rieng commune but also the neighboring communes. Bridge collapsed significantly affecting labor and production of the people. Many people have to  carry rubber latex and agricultural products across streams or have to go around the river.
