China: Natural disasters continuously hit, 63 people died due to historic floods in Henan

9:58:30, 12/08/2021 Typhoon In-Fa made landfall in Zhejiang province, eastern China on July 25, causing flooding in many places, strong winds toppling hundreds of trees and many houses. Meanwhile, the death toll from unprecedented floods in Ha Nam province has reached 63.
Typhoon In-Fa made landfall in eastern China's Zhejiang province with winds of up to 38 meters per second. Typhoon In-Fa also affected China's largest city, Shanghai. All flights in and out of Shanghai's Pudong and Hongqiao international airports were canceled on July 25.

The China Meteorological Administration forecasts that after making landfall in China, the In-Fa storm will weaken but will continue to move over a large area in eastern China for a few days, bringing heavy rain and possibly affecting the coastal areas. The place is still recovering from the rain and floods of the past few days.

Chinese officials announced that the death toll from unprecedented floods in Henan province has risen to 63.

Flooding in Zhejiang Province, China

Meanwhile, according to the authorities, the death toll in the unprecedented flood on July 21 in Ha Nam province has reached 63 people. Among them are 12 people who died on the subway train in Zhengzhou. Floodwater suddenly flooded a subway train and a tunnel in the capital of Henan province. This is the heaviest rain in 1,000 years to hit Ha Nam. The Chinese military had to blow up a dam to divert the rising water that caused flooding.

Torrential rains affected about 3 million people in Henan province, about 376,000 people have been relocated to safety, according to the emergency management agency of Henan province. Economic losses amounted to 65.5 billion yuan ($10 billion).

More than 8,000 military personnel have been mobilized to assist in 10 dangerous areas around the city, Xinhua news agency reported. Rescuers went to many surrounding villages to assist people in distress or trapped in floodwaters. Streets turned into rivers, washing away people, cars and houses. Hundreds of cars were washed away in the flood.
