Crossing flood water carrying necessities to support isolated Nghe An mountainous people

10:19:21, 19/09/2022 Prolonged floods caused heavy damage, thousands of people in the mountainous district of Ky Son (Nghe An) are isolated. To support the people, the functional forces had to cross the flood water and provide necessities.


Bao Nam commune is the most affected locality in the recent flood in Ky Son border district, Nghe An. According to initial statistics, 26 households suffered damage to their houses, nearly 100 fish ponds and cattle drifting with the water. Long-term heavy rains brought floods, causing many roads to be blocked due to landslides, and many villages were isolated.


In Chieu Luu commune, heavy rain in recent days has caused landslides and fractures of arterial roads; More than 3,000 people in 5 villages: Xieng Thu, Luu Hoa, La Ngan, Ta Thong, Luu Thang are still isolated.


According to a report by the People's Committee of Chieu Luu Commune, floods caused 15 households to lose their houses, including 1 house completely collapsed, 5 houses were badly damaged and 9 houses had to be relocated urgently. More than 7ha of rice and many other crops were submerged in flood water.


Standing with people in isolated areas, Ky Son district police crossed the mountain, crossed the flood water with 500 boxes of instant noodles and 1.5 quintals of fish to support people in 3 communes Bao Nam, Bao Thang, Chieu Luu - areas where heavy rains cause the most damage.


The image of the police force not afraid of danger crossing the floodwaters to support the people's necessities caused great emotion.

According to statistics of Ky Son District People's Committee, the flood in recent days has flooded about 160 houses, offices and offices; 8 houses completely collapsed; 17 badly damaged houses; 49 houses were partially damaged; 34 houses at high risk of landslides had to be relocated urgently. In addition, hundreds of hectares of crops and fish ponds were washed away by flood water. Estimated damage is more than 70 billion VND.
