Landslide in Lao Cai caused 1 death and 3 injuries

11:47:34, 03/09/2020 The incident happened at about 3:30 on August 19, in Ta Trung Ho village, Ban Ho commune, Sa Pa town, Lao Cai province while everyone was sleeping. At night in the morning of August 19, due to the influence of long-lasting heavy rain, rocky soil on the talus suddenly eroded into the house of a Dao family in Ta Trung Ho village, Ban Ho commune, Sa Pa town. , Lao Cai province caused 4 casualties. The incident happened around 3:30 p.m. on August 19, while everyone was sleeping.


Water flooded people's houses in Lao Cai.

The large amount of lands and rocks caused the house to completely collapse, losing about 250 million VND, the head of the household, Mr. Phan Quay V, was born in 1993 and died on the spot.

The remaining 3 people, Ms. Tao Mom K (wife of Mr. V, born in 1993) and 2 daughters Phan Ta M (born in 2010) and Phan Pho M (born 2014) were injured.

After grasping the information, the commune authorities instructed local forces and villagers to release soil and rock, overcome the aftermath of the landslide, and at the same time bring Ms. K and a seriously injured daughter to Sa Pa town general hospital.

The town government, knowing the news of the incident, also assigned officials to visit, encourage and support the victim's family./.
