Proposing 5 projects to urgently relocate people from areas at high risk of tube floods, flash floods, and landslides

9:52:47, 12/08/2021 Thanh Hoa is a large province, with a total natural area of 11,129.5 km2, of which more than 70% of the terrain is mountainous. In recent years, due to the adverse effects of climate change, frequent natural disasters, big storms and floods, threaten people's lives, property and production; In many areas in Muong Lat, Quan Son and Quan Hoa districts, flash floods, flash floods, landslides occurred, damaging houses and infrastructure serving people's livelihood and production.

Recently, Thanh Hoa province has been interested in funding support from the Central Government to overcome the problems of tube floods, flash floods and landslides. However, the repair can only be done in severely damaged infrastructure works and construction of some emergency resettlement areas. Currently, in the province, there are still many areas with high risk of tube floods, flash floods and landslides that need urgent solutions to relocate, arrange and arrange to ensure safety and stability of life. living and producing for people in 2021 and the following years.

Following the direction of the Provincial People's Committee, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has coordinated with relevant units and localities to review and evaluate the urgency level and propose a list, arrange the priority order. First, projects to stabilize population in Thanh Hoa province will be implemented in 2021. Accordingly, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development proposes 5 projects to urgently relocate people from at-risk areas. High incidence of tube floods, flash floods and landslides in the province, with a total investment of about 99,350 billion VND.

Specifically: Migration and resettlement project in Cang village, Muong Chanh commune, Muong Lat district; migration and resettlement project in Keo Te village, Nhi Son commune, Muong Lat district; migration and resettlement project in Muong village, Son Thuy commune, Quan Son district; resettlement project in Bon village, Son Lu town, Quan Son district; Migration and resettlement project concentrated in Son Thanh village, Thanh Son commune, Quan Hoa district.

Proposals on these 5 projects will be reported by the Provincial People's Committee and proposed to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to summarize and report to the Prime Minister.
