Quang Binh: Typhoon No. 13 injured 8 people, more than 1,800 houses had their roof blown away

16:17:4, 18/11/2020 Currently in the area with little rain, the local authorities together with the military, police and border forces are urgently helping people overcome the impact of typhoon No. 13 and soon stabilize their lives.

Typhoon 13 caused thousands of houses to be blown off their roofs in Quang Binh


According to information from the Standing Office of the Steering Committee for natural disaster prevention and control and search rescue defense in Quang Binh province, although it has done well the preparation for storms and storms 13 when landing in Quang Binh was not large, but still more than 1,800 houses and offices were blown off the roof, 8 people were injured due to the effects of the storm.

Specifically, typhoon No. 13 injured 8 people while thy are participating in strengthening and fighting against homes and offices. In Bo Trach district, storms accelerated the roof of 1,197 houses; Ba Don town 661 houses, Quang Ninh district : 16 houses.

The storm has blown up the roof, damaged 14 schools (Bo Trach 13 schools and 1 point of Primary School in Quang Minh commune, Ba Don town was completely blown off); 10 cultural houses, a medical station in Ba Don town had their roof blown off by 50%. Typhoon 13 also damaged many electric lines and poles, causing more than 177,000 households to lose power.

At the fishing boat mooring areas, 13 ships were damaged by waves. More than 1,000m of embankment in Canh Duong commune (Quang Trach), 1,040m of embankment in Ly Hoa commune and Hai Phu commune, Bo Trach district was eroded ..., Khe Nai lake dam (Ba Don town) was badly damaged.

About agriculture, more than 110 ha of perennial crops, 10 ha of cassava in Bo Trach district were beaten and fallen by storms.

Currently in the area with little rain, the local authorities together with the military, police and border forces are urgently helping people overcome the impact of typhoon No. 13 and soon stabilize their lives. The households who were relocated to avoid the storm have also returned home.

Households in the area at risk of landslide have been relocated to temporary housing. Local authorities actively prepare new resettlement areas that are safe for the people./.
