Earlier on the morning of May 27, Mr and Mrs. Nguyen Van Quoc (born in 1968) and Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong (born in 1973) in hamlet 4 Hoan Trach, Hoan Lao town used boats to fish in the tributary of Thanh Ba bridge. located at the border between Thanh Trach and Bac Trach communes, Bo Trach district unfortunately sank and drowned.

Upon receiving the news, the forces of Hoan Lao town, Bac Trach, Thanh Trach communes and Gianh port border post, Squadron 2 of the provincial border guard urgently searched for victims during the night. At 0:00, on May 28, the functional forces found the wife's body and at 5 a.m. this morning, the husband's body was found to be handed over to the family for burial.

According to the leader of Hoan Lao town, the family of this fisherman and his wife is very difficult and has many children. The house is a gratitude house supported by the community. The local government visited, offered condolences and sent support to the victim's family.

It is known that in recent days, in Bo Trach district, there have been many tragic drowning accidents: on May 25, two brothers in Phong Nha town went fishing and drowned and recently in the afternoon On May 26, a 4-year-old girl while playing fell into a ditch and drowned.
