Meteorological experts warned of the risk of snowfall in the high mountains of Lao Cai and Lai Chau. At the same time, the recorded temperature in Mau Son (Lang Son) was 9.2 degrees Celsius, an increase from the previous day but not significantly.

Provinces and cities from Da Nang to Quang Ngai become cold, the common low temperature is 15-18 degrees Celsius.

The Central Highlands and the South have a marked reduction in heat at night. The Central Highlands area will be cold at night and in the morning, while Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring provinces will maintain the temperature 23-27 degrees Celsius, cold nights.

Commenting on the weather in the coming time, the meteorological agency said that in January and February, the Northern region and the provinces from Thanh Hoa to Thua Thien-Hue had average monthly temperatures lower than 0.5- 1 degree C compared with the same period for many years.

The damaging cold spells in this period are likely to last 3-5 days and remain longer in the mountainous areas of the North of Vietnam.

To cope with severe and damaging colds in the North, experts recommend localities to delay school or give students a break when the whole area's temperature drops to a low threshold, especially in mountainous areas.

People in mountainous areas continue to apply measures to shield and strengthen barns, actively check the health of cattle, add salt and refined food in the diet.

People also need to consider the possibility of going out to the field, not doing when the temperature is below 10 degrees Celsius, going to work later, leaving earlier.

To ensure safety, the Traffic Police Department (Ministry of Public Security) recommends that people in traffic must move in bad weather, fog obscures the view, the driver should turn on all lights. lighting, reduce speed, pay attention to observe. At sea, coastal areas level 5, level 6, in the Gulf of Tonkin, Central and Southern waters have strong Northeast winds of 6-7, shock level 9, strong seas; sea ​​waves 3-5m high.
