Thua Thien-Hue: A Luoi hydropower reservoir regulates water downstream

A Luoi hydropower reservoir will be regulated downstream with increasing flow, avoiding sudden changes, about 100-1,000 m3 / second to ensure construction and downstream area.

Before the evolution of long-lasting heavy rain in Thua Thien-Hue province, on October 7, the Office of the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Thua Thien-Hue Province issued a written request to the Central Hydropower Joint Stock Company operates A Luoi hydropower reservoir regulating downstream.

Accordingly, A Luoi hydropower reservoir will regulate downstream with increasing flow, avoiding sudden spikes, about 100-1,000 m3 / second to ensure construction and downstream areas.

The opening time of the discharge door is from 11am on October 7, A Luoi hydropower project is located on A Sap river, in Hong Thai commune and Quang Nham commune, A Luoi district (Thua Thien Hue province), including 2 groups of machine, with installed capacity of 170 MW, capacity corresponding to normal water level rise is 60.2 million m3.

According to the Meteorological and Hydrological Station of Thua Thien-Hue province, due to the intense cold air in combination with the East wind zone and low trench, there is heavy rain coming from October 6-10 in Thua Thien-Hue province with thunderstorm.Rainfall from 500-700mm, in a thunderstorm in case of tornado and strong winds.
The Office of the Command for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue in Thua Thien-Hue province said that as of 7 o'clock on October 7, the largest rainfall measured was Bach Ma area with 221mm, Hue city was 133mm .

The water level in major rivers in the province, currently Huong River is below alert 1 is 0.02m; Bo river is 0.39m.

The Meteorological and Hydrological Station of Thua Thien-Hue province predicts that from October 7-10, rivers in the area of Thua Thien Hue will likely appear a flood.

Downstream areas of Huong and Bo rivers are at alarm level 1 to alarm 2, upstream areas and other rivers may be above alarm 2. Risk of flash floods, landslides in mountainous areas, Construction is in progress in the districts of A Luoi, Nam Dong, mountainous areas of Phong Dien, Phu Loc, Huong Thuy and Huong Tra towns./.
