US announces action plan for global water security

10:26:7, 07/06/2022 The US Vice President stressed that this action plan will help the US prevent conflict and promote cooperation among nations, making the world "more inclusive and sustainable."

On June 1, US Vice President Kamala Harris announced the Global Water Security Action Plan, which outlines an innovative approach to promote water security in the US and around the world.
This is Washington's first action plan of its kind, demonstrating America's "complete commitment" to helping provide access to safe water and sanitation services around the world, sharing data. America's "world leader" in water resources to help manage and conserve water resources.

The US Vice President emphasized that this action plan will help the United States prevent conflict and promote cooperation among nations, promote equity and economic growth, and help make the world "global" more present and sustainable.”

The plan would also involve identifying and supporting investment funds to connect communities with resources to pay for water and sanitation, and through U.S. government agencies to provide funds. Borrowing and political risk insurance to support private sector investment in the water resources sector.

The US government plan will also involve the development of new climate-friendly technologies for water desalination, water resource recovery, and the implementation of initiatives with the Industrialized Countries (Group) countries. G7) and the Group of leading developed and emerging economies (G20), as well as the United Nations.
